Paris was furnished an official cachet, as the city had not previously had air mail service.This cover was carried on the inaugural Air Mail Route 80 flight from Paris, Texas to Houston, Texas (where it was backstamped) and is listed in the Contract Air Mail Flights (CAM) Section of The American Air Mail Catalogue was 80S5. Braniff International Airways continued its growth by acquiring Mid-Continent Airlines on August 15, 1952.
