Description: This is a vintage chrome postcard, unposted and featuring a view of the Memphis Belle, a B-17 Military Flying Fortress Bomber, the first to successfully fly 25 combat missions during World War II. Named after the pilots sweetheart who lived in Memphis, the nose cone featured a depiction of a pin-up Petty Girl. After the war, it was displayed outdoors from 1946 until 2003 and deteriorated from the weather elements and souvenir hunters. In 2005, it was transferred to the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. Postcard circa 1960s. Postcard may have normal wear associated with old postcards such as creases, stains and bent corners. See pics for details and conditions. Reasonable offers will be considered.
