Description: Anchor Hocking first introduced "Rainbow" in 1938 and it was produced until the early 1950s. It came in four bright primary colors called Tangerine (Red), Blue, Green and Yellow (not that green is a primary color, but bright and colorful nonetheless). As a Fiesta collector I began collecting Rainbow because it began production around the same time and the bright, fired-on colors served the same style transition from the Art Deco of the 1930s to the Mid Century Modern of the 1950s. To my mind Fiesta, in pottery, and Rainbow, in glass, were the two earliest examples of Mid Century Modern in the decorative arts. This listing offers the plates in my collection. All four colors are represented in three sizes. The Dinner/Luncheon Plates are 9 1/4 inches in diameter while the Salad Plates are 7 1/4 inches and the Bread (referred to as "Sherbert" in the Anchor Hocking catalogue) Plates, 6 1/4. Although this listing allows you to select whatever plates you wish (while still in stock) I am offering generous discounts when multiple plates are purchased. I will adjust quantity discounts, when needed, as Ebay may compute the discount only within each variation choice. If two plates of any size or color are purchased the discount will be 10%, three plates 15%, four or more 20%. I also will adjust Ebay's computed postage charges (downward) to reflect only the actual postage I will pay for any combined shipment. You will never pay more than the amount computed by Ebay.
