Description: Marie Lohr (1890-1975) was an actress, born in Australia. Her father was the treasurer of the Melbourne Opera House and her mother, Kate Bishop (1848-1923) was an English actress. A number of her extended family members were involved in theater. She was active on both the stage and film in Great Britain. Her first stage appearance was at age 4 in Sydney, Australia. Her family moved to Britain and at the age of 10 and she made her stage debut in London. Her career was of more than 60 years duration and she acted in plays by Bernard Shaw, J. M. Barry, Somerset Maugham and other famous playwrights. She performed mainly in Great Britain and she also acted in three Broadway productions. She staged and produced two ot the plays. Miss Lohr's portrait seen on this postcard was taken by Dover Street Studios. The postcard was published by Rotary Photo as part of the "Radio Series" (R13A).This postcard is in excellent condition (see scans).
