Description: Rare original antique engraving print from an 1840s illustrated journal. This antique print depicts two different running races with articles describing them. The larger top picture (9 x 4.5 inches) shows a 10-mile marathon in Hoboken New Jersey. The article beneath it describes the race in great detail. It was won by John Barlow. The second picture (5.75 x 5 inches) shows a match race in Barnet, England for a 200-pound prize. A short article describes that race. The print is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 11 x 15 inches (28 x 38 cm). The picture fills most of it, measuring about 9 x 13 inches, with a caption below it. The page is in excellent condition for its age. There is text/photos on the back of the print. See scan for an accurate view of the condition. This print will come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
