Description: This listing is for a Marantz 1180DC Integrated Stereo Amplifier in excellent (near mint) cosmetic and working condition. The original plastic film protector (see last picture) that was supplied with the original packaging is still present and has helped protect the faceplate well. The unit is rated at 90 WPC @ 8 Ω with ≤ 0.03% THD. It has been tested/serviced and is working. The unit features variable Loudness Contour, two Phono inputs, Two Tape inputs with Tape monitoring, as well as a Tuner and AUX input. It has Pre-Out/Main-In jacks on the rear panel which offer a simple way to use these functions separately as well as make use of a graphic equalizer or other sound processor. Because of the compact size and design of these units (all 8 outputs on single heatsink) the potential for overheating is a known concern (as it is with all high-power audio amps). While this unit is no exception, it performed without incident in a 24 hour in use test – WITH PROPER VENTALATION! If placed in a cabinet without sufficient airflow it may perform otherwise. It is also advisable NOT to place another piece of equipment on top of it as it will decrease air circulation. One option often used is to add a small Mini-USB fan and a USB plug adaptor plugged into one of the two rear panel “switched” outlets (that will turn the small fan off/on when the unit is switched on/off). A copy of the Handbook of Instructions for both units is included. The following outline describes the testing/service work done: · All speaker connections have been tested and are working, both right and left channels. · Tuner, Aux and Tape 1/2 inputs and outputs were tested and function as expected. · Both Phono inputs were tested and function as expected. · The headphone jack was tested and is working. · All Switches and Potentiometers were flushed with contact cleaner, followed by treatment with the appropriate DeoxIt treatment. · The faceplate and all knobs were removed, cleaned and hand polished. · The Power indicator lamp was working at time of testing (see picture). · All 8 original Marantz output transistors were present/tested/cleaned and re-installed with fresh heat sink compound. · The power cord was inspected/cleaned and is in excellent condition. · Any missing top cabinet or bottom plate screws were replaced · All feet were inspected and are in excellent condition. · The unit has LED peak indicators which are functional and do engage at higher volumes. · A final extended use test was performed to ensure functionality This listing describes the items to the best of our ability.
