Description: M110P runs on 110V power and does not need compressed air. This year 2009 microfluidizer originally was set to a maximum running pressure of 20K PSI. It's PLC has been re-programed to run at 30 K PSI, good for cell lysis of bacteria and yeasts, and production of nanoparticles or nanoemulsions. Notes: All M110P were made with the same maximum pressure limit and the PLC unit (Siemens S7-200) was programed to set the proportional valve to reduce pressures to suit customers' need (10K, 20K or 30K PSI). The newer M110P allows for direct continuous-pressure control via PLC. The original glass hopper was broken and we replaced with a plastic 250ml funnel. It has a one-litter 316 stainless steel hopper but we never had such large volumes to use it. It has been re-tuned with a new digital 2000-bar (30 K psi) pressure gauge. The original microfluidizer used a long vertical tube to connect a mechanical pressure gauge (see the picture with the mechanical pressure gauge) with a C-shaped Bourdon tube. As the pressure pulses between zero to 30K PSI during the run, the bourdon tube of the pressure gauge fails (leaks) quickly. Also, the long vertical tube + the C-bourdon tube create additional problems: 1) result in cross contamination from previous run (there is no way to flush out the liquid left in this connection tube and C-bourdon tube); 2) reduce production efficiency (the air trapped in the connection and C-bourdon tube acts as a pressure damper).Microfluidics suggested to use a plug (see the last picture for usage) without the pressure gauge to correct its problem. To correct Microfluidics' designing flaw, we ordered a digital gauge with a direct male HP connection to eliminate the dead volume and any mechanical movement (see the pictures with the digital gauge). Will be shipped with the digital pressure gauge and a plug (not the mechanical pressure gauge) together with the customized stainless steel table (34x24x21").
