He began his music career in the 1960s, and in the 1970s he produced albums one after another with overseas artists. After that, he moved to Los Angeles and has been receiving increasing acclaim in recent years for his co-record ``Butterfly'' with Herbie Hancock (piano). This album was recorded in Los Angeles and was produced by Richard Rudolph. Lee Ritenour (guitar), Nathan East (bass), Harvey Mason (drums), John Robinson (drums) and others participate. The long-awaited reissue includes the title song, which is popular as a Japanese boogie/disco song, and the swingy "Sing Me Gently," which is different from Roberta Flack's original.
