Description: US Army Offical Gen III ECWCS Silkweight Thermal UnderwearThe Army Issue Gen III ECWCS silkweight drawers are the first layer, or level 1, in the latest Extreme Cold Weather layering system. The Gen III ECWCS is a special layering system designed to allow soldiers to keep warm, and layer up for varying degrees of cold and/or wet weather. From the silkweight underwear and undershirt all the way to the level 7 primaloft parka, this system will keep you warm and comfortable from the mild chills of fall through the deepest cold of the winter. The full system is rated for temperatures from -40°F to +60°F. The first layer is the Base layer, which comes in two thicknesses, to be used separately, depending on how cold it is. This is lighter and thinner of the two base layers. These moisture-wicking "long-johns" are made with Polartec® Power Dry® material, designed to keep you warm, while staying dry. The Power Dry® fabric is highly breathable, and has "touch points" on the interior of the fabric to wick the moisture to the outside, where it can evaporate easily. The Gen III level 1 Drawers are made with flat locked construction, from a material featuring Microban® anti-microbial properties to prevent odor.
