PLEASE NOTE: There are 4 signatures on the very softly cream-colored pre-title page - Robert Bloch, Ramsey Campbell, Dennis Etchison, and Ray Bradbury.. The upper corner of the back of this page has Janet Leigh's signature. Bloch, famous as the writer of PSYCHO, the book that Hitchcock made into the all-time great horror film starring Jent Leigh and Anthony Perkins, contributed the essay "100 Memorable Movies From the 20s and 30s. Ramsey contributed the essay "Welcome To Britain." Etchison contributed the essay "Twenty-Four Frames A Second." Bradbury contributed the essay "Memories." Only Janet Leigh didn't contribute an essay, but others highlighted 3 of her greatest films - Orson Welles' TOUCH OF EVIL, Hitchcock's PSYCHO, and THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE and John Frankenheimer's THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE. In his lovely Introduction, Herb Yellin explains that this tribute to film and fi/makers was a decade in the making, and started out as a tribute to his favorite movies. But, as Bradbury explains in MEMORIES, when he visited the Motion Picture Academy Of Arts And Sc ieneces, he pored over the 100 original movie posters on his walls and good memories flooded back to him... he'd seen most of them during his life and they defined his life and commitment to creating stories for both book and films. This book is in many ways like a film course taught by some of the world's greatest critics, authors. and writers. Most of the one-sheets in the book were owned by longtime Hollywood specialty publisher Yellin and are signed by the stars. There are also dozens of rare, gorgeous B&W photos of movie legends. It's rare, with no other limited signed first editions on eBay or the other major book (and everything else site. The buyer would be well-served getting a fitted mylar cover, which will both preserve the DJ and flatten out the curl-crinkle at the top front edge.
