Description: LOMAX Patent 1870 Antique Victorian Oil Guard Glass Pedestal Stand Lamp Vintage lamp designed by George Henry Lomax and made by Union Glass Company, Somerville, Massachusetts, circa 1870. Mold-blown glass with raised rim to keep oil from spilling over. Excellent condition overall; no chips or nicks. There a few air bubbles inside the glass from the manufacturing process. There were several models and variations of this “oil guard” lamp design.
