Applebey was born at Dudley in the West Midlands. He later settled at Glasgow, studying at the city’s School of Art and exhibiting at the Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts and at the Royal Scottish Academy. This is a great example of his work with lovely lines and nice, dark strike marks. Image has toning. Margins have some minor chipping. Hand-signed in the lower right, titled "Lochearnhead" on the left. Title and signature are also on the strike. It isn't dated but it looks to have been done in the early part of the 20th Century.
