Books 1-54 of these are theregular Animorphs seriesThe 11 SPECIAL SERIES are:Megamorphs #1 The Andalite'sGift – (be advised that this also comes in a 2-part, 2 book version) Megamorphs #2 In the Time ofDinosaurs – (be advised that this also comes in a 2-part, 2 bookversion)Megamorphs #3 Elfangor's SecretMegamorphs #4 Back to BeforeAlternamorphs #1 The First JourneyAlternamorphs #2 The Next PassageThe Andalite Chronicles – (beadvised that this also comes in a 3 book version)1. The Andalite Chronicles #1 - Elfangor'sJourney2. The Andalite Chronicles #2 - Alloran'sChoice3. The Andelite Chronicles #3 - An AlienDiesThe Hork-BajirVisserAnimorphs The Ellimist ChroniclesMeet the Stars of Animorphs (TV Series)So, of the 11 book SPECIAL SERIES, 4 areMegamorphs books, 4 are Chronicles books, 2 are Alternamorphs, and the last isan introduction to the actors of the TV show unrelated to the readingorder (Meet the Stars of Animorphs). If you don't knowwhat any of these are, don't worry, I'll explain as we go. The 54 regular books arenumbered from #1 to #54, and that's the order you should read them in, but youmay be wondering when you should read those other books. I'll explain wherethey fit in.Megamorphs books The Megamorphs books are like "super" Animorphs books; they're justlike regular Animorphs books, but they are a bit longer and the chaptersalternate between characters. Animorphs Megamorphs #1: The Andalite's Gift (Animorphs) The first of the Megamorphs; takes place after Animorphs #7 and beforeAnimorphs #8. A great book for introducing yourself to Animorphs. In the Time of Dinosaurs (Animorphs Megamorphs #2) This time the plot takes a brave turn in hurling the Animorphs back to the timeof the dinosaurs (duh). Goes between #18 and #19. Animorphs Megamorphs #3: Elfangor' Secret (Animorphs) The third Megamorphs is an excellent time-travel story; my second favorite ofall the Megamorphs. Should go between #29 and #30. Back To Before: Back To Before (Animorphs #4) The final Megamorphs gives us a glimpse at what would have happened if theAnimorphs had never gotten their morphing power. My favorite Megamorph book, but should definitely not be read if you're not too familiar with Animorphs.Goes after Alternamorphs #2 (see below) and before #41. Chronicles books These are in my opinion the best of the Animorphs books, but unfortunately, youshould not read them until you're reasonably familiar with Animorphs. Thesestories are not about the Animorphs themselves, but instead focus on charactersfrom various alien species. The Andalite Chronicles (Elfangor's Journey, Alloran'sChoice, An Alien Dies) - Animorphs This excellent storyfocuses on Elfanger - the Andalite who gave the Animorphs their morphingpowers. The longest Animorphs book, and my second favorite of all. Should beread between Animorphs #13 and Animorphs #14. The Hork-Bajir Chronicles (Animorphs) A great story focusing on three characters instead of one; Aldrea the Andalite,Dak Hamee the Hork-Bajir, and Esplin 9466 the Yeerk. An interesting cast to saythe least. Should be read after #22 and before #23. Animorphs: Visser (pob) (Animorphs) Focuses on the Yeerk known as Visser One. Tells how the invasion of earthbegan. Should be read between #35 and #36. The Ellimist Chronicles (Animorphs) Unveils the story of the Ellimist. This is my favorite Animorphs book, and iscurrently my favorite book of all time. The scope of the story here isabsolutely jaw-dropping. Should be read between #47 and #48. Alternamorphs booksAn Animorphs version ofthose good old "Choose Your own Adventure" books. In my opinion, these are the weakest of all Animorphs books. The plots are basically"what if" stories; they have no impact on the overall plot of theseries. The First Journey (Animorphs Alternamorphs) The first of two; this one is very weak. You might like it, but you might not.Released between #27 and #28. Alternamorphs #02: The Next Passage (Alternamorphs) A fair bit better than the first one, thankfully. Give these books a try if youwant, but they're not essential to the series. Released between #40 andMegamorphs #4. So in summary, the release order (and my recommended reading order) of Animorphsbooks goes like this: #1-#7 Megamorphs #1 #8-#13 Andalite Chronicles #14-#18 Megamorphs #2 #19-#22 (Note!)· #20: TheDiscovery, part 1 of a Trilogy· #21: TheThreat, part 2 ofa Trilogy· #22: TheSolution, part 3 ofa Trilogy Hork-BajirChronicles #23-#27 Alternamorphs #1 #28-#29 Megamorphs #3 #30-#35 Visser #36-#40 Alternamorphs #2 Megamorphs #4 #41-#47 EllimistChronicles#48-#54 RecommendationsNow that you know whatorder you should read them in, I'll recommend some books I think would be goodintroductions to the series. If you're not sure if you're going to readAnimorphs or not, try one of these books. Animorphs Megamorphs #01: The Andalite's Gift (Animorphs) The first Megamorphs is an excellent intro to the series; it's the book thatgot me hooked. Centering on all the characters, it'll give you a good feel forthe series. The Invasion (Animorphs #1) What better place to start than the start? This is the very first book, explaining how the Animorphs got their morphing power. The Encounter (Animorphs#3) A great book; this one focuses on Tobias, the boy who has become trapped inmorph and must now live as a red-tailed hawk. Highly recommended. The Message (Animorphs , No 4) Another good one, this one is narrated by Cassie. Features some excellent underwaterbattles and also introduces us to a new Animorph. The Predator (Animorphs, No. 5) This is an important Marco book, as it deals with his mother. Animorphs #06: The Capture (Animorphs) #6 in the series. Narrated by Jake, we find out what it's like to become aController. An excellent book. The Alien (Animorphs) (Animorphs) The first book narrated by Ax the Andalite. A fascinating story from theperspective of an alien trying to understand us. Good luck, Ax. ;) The Reaction (Animorphs, No 12) Narrated by Rachel, this one gives us a glimpse of what happens when we acquiresomething we shouldn't. ;) Very enjoyable. The Extreme (Animorphs) The Animorphs vs. the North Pole. Thoroughly enjoyable book.Animorphs #26: The Attack (Animorphs)An excellent book. You'llneed to have at least read #7 and #10 first, though, or you'll get confused. The Separation (Animorphs) (Animorphs) See the two sides of Rachel - literally. An interesting book. Animorphs #33: The Illusion (Animorphs) A superb Tobias book; but contains spoilers for earlier books. Before you readthis, read the Andalite Chronicles and all previous Tobias books. Animorphs #37: The Weakness (Animorphs) Many didn't like this book, but I did. Has a sense of fun, and then becomesvery serious. The Andalite Chronicles (Elfangor's Journey, Alloran'sChoice, An Alien Dies) - Animorphs An excellent story; once you've read a few Animorphs books, read this. It'sfantastic. The Ellimist Chronicles (Animorphs) What can I say? This is brilliant. Save this for when you're a decent way intothe series, but be warned, it has a bit of a spoiler for the final book. Tryyour hardest to get this book; it's amazing. I even recommend it for people whohaven't read any Animorphs at all. So there you go. Have fun!
