Description: MATCHBOX LESNEY “Aston Martin DBR5” ONE OWNER This is a VERY - VERY - VERY RARE NUMBER 5 NOT 19 Racing issue Model Please see independent report below Purchased New as Gift 1961 / 62 DETAILED INSPECTION FOR LISTING :- The Model is Finished in Aston Martins Racing Green Metallic and with a Very Close hand held inspection with magnifying Glass No Paint Imperfections or chips were detected, under magnification some slight silver edges visible to bonnet edge and vents not bare metal but normal factory finish in my opinion This Rare Aston has all original No 5 Racing Decals with no damage Original Grey Racing Driver in Cockpit, Nice bright silver steering wheel & Stub axels, Excellent black painted base plate no scratches features a cast no 19 to front of base plate & made in England also present, Wire Wheels and axel caps have maintained a nice silver finish also, Tyres unused still got plastic pips in place, A great tribute to this Racing Legend & VERY RARE To see one in this condition I DONT REFER TO MY MODELS AS MINT & NEAR MINT I prefer to give an honest blow by blow Detailed Report with Photographs of actual model Dimensions 6.5 x 3 cms approx Please see photographs of my model for your carful inspection Photographs of Real Aston Martin car for illustration only From pet free none smoking environment Insured Special Delivery included with this model In Original “D” Series Box 1961 to 1965 DETAILED DESCRIPTION :-This Box is in Excellent Condition it has nice crisp original shape, Excellent Colour & Satin Sheen to it, on VERY CLOSE inspection it has a small crease to one corner of blue side box face & one to fold in end flap ( please see photos ), it has all flaps present also and in my opinion is Amazing Condition, has been stored since very early 60s and is part of this one owner model. “SENSIBLE OFFERS CONSIDERED AS CANT REPLACE THIS RARE MODEL” Matchbox 19c; Aston Martin DBR5 Racing Car; Metallic Green, Wire Wheels, RN5The Aston Martin DBR5 was added to the range in 1962 and was deleted in 1965. Interestingly the car on which it was based was a complete failure and was the cause of Aston Martin pulling out of Formula 1 racing. Only two cars were made in 1960 and scrapped in 1961, a year before Matchbox released the model.The Matchbox car is always metallic green with wire wheels and can have a white or grey driver figure. The racing number can be 3, 5, 19, 41 or 52. Ramsay puts 19 as the lowest value and 3 as the highest.
