Description: This book is Volume 10 of the 45-volume of the Collected Works of V. I. Lenin. The articles in this book were written by Lenin during the period of time from November of 1905 until June of 1906. Among the most interesting of the articles contained in this volume are those which are associated with the Bolshevik Party Conference which was held in Tammerfors, Finland on December 12, 1905. The main agenda for the Conference was to issue a call for a Fourth Party Congress of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party. This Fourth Congress was to be a Unity Congress.Lenin and the Bolsheviks had become aware that since the Third Party Congress in London in April of 1905, the split between the Bolsheviks and the Menshevik factions, which had existed in the Russian Social Democratic Party since the Third Party Congress, had weakening the Party. This weakness in the party had occurred just at the time, the 1905 revolutionary upsurge was rising in Russia.The Revolution of 1905 had started in December of 1904 with the Putilov Strike in December of 1904. In December of 1905, the uprising in Moscow which had begun in September, 1905, was rising again. The hardships imposed by an agrarian crisis in 1905 and the continuing defeats in the Russo-Japanese War had weakened the economy and the government of Russia.
