Description: This listing is for new old stock Leitz Plan Fluotar 40x/0,7 160/0,17 Dry Microscope Objective. This is plane image objective made by Leitz Wetzlar from UVA transparent fluorite glass and designed for 160mm tube length microscopes like Leitz (160/170mm), Zeiss Standard, WL, Photomicroscope series and other similar with 160mm tube. It is proven to show a good UV transmission, hence suitable for fluorescence studies. It is designed for standard 0.17mm cover glass as well non-standard cover glass thicknesses ranging from 0.1mm (e.g. Corning Willow glass or similar Schott) to 0.3mm (e.g Gorilla glasses). The tube length of 160mm will also fit Nikon, Olympus, Zeiss West and other microscopes. The objective is in unused condition showing very minor signs of storage (please see pictures attached) but the optics is still in like new condition (no scratches, delamination, fungus, damage in AR coatings). This is very handy and quite rare lot. Must have for serious microscopy professionals. Please ask questions before bidding and bid only if you know what you are bidding for.
