Last of the Venturing Silver Award Patches Boy Scouts NOS circa 2012 Eagle Scout

Description: Very few of these Silver Award patches were produced before the end of the original Venturing Award program in 2014. With the advent of the ALPS Awards in 2014, the Bronze, Gold and Silver Awards were confined to history. This is a beautifully detailed patch with the official Scout Stuff backing. We found these up cleaning out boxes and have seen very few of them. Never saw them in Scout Shops, they were a special order only item. No idea how many were produced but the numbers are probably very low, maybe under a thousand. If you know someone who earned the Silver Award, they might like one of these for a Holiday Gift. If you know a patch collector/trader, this is a relatively rare item since less than 5 Venturers out of 1,000 ever earned the Silver Award. Only RANGER (1 in a thousand) and Quartermaster (2 in a 1,000) are rarer and this edition of the insignia was the last one ever produced in very small numbers. It differs from earlier versions because the circle around the Fleur de Lis is complete on this version, in earlier versions it was broken open at the top.
