Description: I've collected a lot of wonderful antique wood dough bowls over the last 40 years but the large ones over 21 inches like this with fabulous original beautiful birdseye and stripe patina that has smoothed over time from many years of honest good use are getting harder to come by in great shape as you know if you collect these primitive colonial treasures too. Check out all the pics. It's MUCH better in person than they could ever show you too. If you love birds eye or tiger stripes in your maple wood you will cherish this one. It has a bit of both. Again the pics don't show the beauty of this like I wish I could capture for you but I promise you won't be disappointed if you seek one of a kind honest worn handmade primitives from New England like this from Vermont. It's fantastic and displays well with your higher end collections of wood bowls and other colonial treenware. It's all original and out of round measuring about 21+ inches and a bit over 19 across. Just how it should be for an original hand made treasure from days gone by. As you can see it has been used over the years and is very smooth in some places from honest wear that only happens over many years of time. It has some stains and some very tight cracks with a very early repair but nothing I consider an apology as the patina and size and thick lip edge make up for anything you could wish to change about it. There is a hole for hanging as you see that has a piece of hemp I will leave for you. Overall it's a rare find in fantastic shape that you will enjoy in your collection of earlies as much as I have in mine. The massive size and gorgeous patina and color of the aging makes it stand out among others to be a show piece if you display it on an old farm table full of antique stone fruit or other bowl fillers or it will grace a wall with dignity if you hang it for safe keeping too. SO many possibilities with this one. It's amazing and again MUCH better in person than the pics could ever show you here.
