Large 18" Vintage Wooden FINGER JOINT TOOL BOX Antique Jointed Tap & Die Trunk

Description: Old, Finger Jointed Wooden Tool Box that I believe originally held a tap & die set, though it appears that the wooden forms that held the implements was removed (couple tiny screw holes in bottom, that do not go all way through). There is a wooden tray that lifts out. No manufacturer name. There is a part number on bottom. See bottom view. Finish looks like it was stripped off at one time, probably removing any labels or logo. . Finger jointed all around, with a nailed on bottom. Nails are old and rusty, but firmly in place. Handles are INSET and made of fancy CAST IRON. They are rusty with surface rust, but could probably be buffed to a shine, if you want. Lid is Beveled onedges, and hinged on. Please note the repaired split in wood on Back, below hinge. I took closeups from inside and outside. One awesome old tool box . All joints intact. SIZE: TOTAL: Approx 18 1/2" long, 8" wide and 5" high. All measurements to the best of my ability to measure. CONDITION: Box is in good, old condition, see above. Finish has been stripped off, long time ago, so box could use a good sanding before putting on a new finish, or leave as is. Cool either way. Some old residue that I took a closeup of. Wood is old and dry. Box has age/use wear including dings, dents, divots, bumps, etc. The beveled edges and corners of lid have scuffs, . The pivoting clasp has a broken off end so it does not catch. There are a few old age cracks in wood, I didn't clean this, so you may want to clean. Please look at all the pictures. Please see my other items listed. .
