At the time this listing was written, multiple place setting pieces and extra pieces were available in this pattern, so be sure and check out my many other lots! The salad plate measures approximately 8.375” in diameter and the pieces in the set are marked with a series of characters and designs. Using Google Translate, the characters translate to a combination of the following words/phrases: “Korean Pottery, Imperial Court, Palace, Great King.” The plate has a white/ivory base with a multicolor floral design (primary color of the multi-color rim is blue), in addition to an abstract pattern of multi-color animals in the center. The pattern is based upon or coordinated with the Taejon Expo 93 50th Anniversary. The status of the pattern is unknown with the years of manufacture also unknown. Condition: Overall, the salad plates are in very good lightly used condition. The plates were acquired as part of a much larger set with little history known; however, no major condition issues (chips, cracks, crazing) were noticed upon a thorough inspection. The pieces may show light utensil marks/scratches, cleaning or storage scratches, or minor glazing imperfections to the rim, but the pieces look only lightly used.
