The Detroit is the largest model in Klipsch's Music City lineup of rugged, portable Bluetooth speakers. It uses two 1" dome tweeters, two 3" woofers, and four passive radiators to dish out big sound. A rubberized exterior and metal grille mean you can take it just about anywhere — it's dustproof and waterproof. The built-in rechargeable battery keeps your tunes playing for up to 20 hours at a stretch. Want even more sound? You can pair a second Detroit speaker for a bigger, wider stereo spread. Or go even bigger using its Broadcast Mode, which lets you play music on up to 10 compatible Klipsch speakers at once. Notes from a training session at Crutchfield HQ Klipsch recently stopped by our Charlottesville call center with many products in tow, including their trio of Music City portable Bluetooth speakers, the Austin, the Nashville, and the Detroit. All three exhibited a consistent — and very Klipsch-like — tonal character, with solid bass, surprisingly high output, and clear, direct-sounding vocals. Our spacious training room can pose quite a challenge even for much bigger speakers, so it was impressive to hear how well each of these portable Klipsch models filled the space, especially the top-of-the-line Detroit.
