Stamp marks on the inside front cover and end page, on title page and first text page. A color fold-out map has a very large tear. No other inside markings. Pages are clean but yellowed. Two pages of ads at the end. imprinting on the front cover and spine is fading. Corners, spine bumped. Inside: Some pencil writing on the inside back cover and back end page. A bit more ink writing on the titles list page opposite the title page. It is one of the first English adventure novels set in Africa and is considered to be the genesis of the lost world literary genre. It is the first of fourteen novels and four short stories by Haggard about Allan Quatermain.
