Material losses during mixing and application will vary and must be taken into consideration. Expect up to 50% less coverage on bare wood, rough or sandblasted surfaces. For the best coverage and finish results it is recommended that MAXX two-part topcoat be applied over a surface primer of RustSeal. In most cases one coat of MAXX topcoat over RustSeal is adequate to produce a fine finish. If a primer is not used, two coats are recommended over bare rust-free metal.SURFACE PREPDo not apply if surface temperature is below 45ºF or above 110ºF or if the surface temperature is within 5ºF of the dew point.
