Description: This is for 1 Johnson emblem decal/sticker. It is approx. the same size as an original emblem, 5-1/4" x 2-1/8" and will fit 5-1/2, 7-1/2, 10, and 18 HP. This style was originally used for 1957 but could be used for other years if you wanted to. They are professionally made using the same process and vinyl that's used on cars, trucks, vans, boats, etc. and are made to stand up to the elements. Made from 2mil hi-tack adhesive backed vinyl and a glossy 1mil UV protective laminate. This is an enhanced image of an actual emblem. They're not meant to be an exact duplicate or replacement on a show quality motor or one restored to original condition. An actual emblem should be used in that situation. But if your emblem is broken or missing this will make your motor look more complete without a huge expense. It will also make it look more presentable if you're selling it and it's missing that emblem. For the average person who just wants to fill that empty space with a suitable decal, this will do very nicely. *Please keep in mind that different monitors/screens may display colors differently. The actual colors or shades of the decal may be slightly different from what you're seeing on your screen. *Shipping is only $4.25 no matter how many you buy! Please allow a day or two for me to ship because of my schedule. Thanks. *See application instructions below.* Using the existing mounting holes in the cover as guides, along with strips of masking tape to outline the circumference will aid in placing these in the right location. *CAUTION! The adhesive is strong! If too much decal is laid down or pressed too firmly at first, you may not be able to lift it up to reposition without damaging it. For greatest adhesion it should be applied in warmer weather, preferably 50 or above. Before applying make sure the surface is clean and free of grease, oil, dirt, etc. Use a 50/50 rubbing alcohol/water solution, Windex, etc. on a paper towel, clean cloth or rag. Be mindful that harsher chemicals or degreasers could damage surrounding paint if any gets on it. You might also want to fill any mounting holes beforehand so the decal has a totally smooth surface to be applied to. You could put a small piece of masking tape on the outside of the hole. And then from the inside of the cover lay in a small dab of silicone or epoxy. Let it set up, remove the tape from the outside and you now have a flat surface for the decal with no holes for it to sink into. Apply with clean hands. Take your time. To aid in lining it up properly you could lay down pieces of masking tape to roughly outline where the decal will be placed. Then line up the decal carefully and lay down one side or corner very lightly and be sure it's going where you want it to. Do not press down firmly at first or you may not be able to lift it up, to readjust if necessary, without damaging it. When you are sure you have it lined up correctly and in the right position then you can lay the rest of it in place and apply firm pressure and smooth out the whole decal.
