Gould (1804-81 Britain, Australia) and Henry Constantine Richter (British, 1821-1902) hand colored lithograph, Walter, imp., J Could & H.C Richter lit c.1850-1883. Gould produced a number of major works on the birds of various geographic regions of the world, such as Europe, the Himalayas, and Australia. Gould's observations of birds collected by Darwin led to the latter's theories on evolution. Gould was a taxidermist, professional gardener and zoological curator in the course of his long career, and he prospered greatly from the sale of the lithographs of birds. Measurements: It is approx. 20 1/2" ( 52 cm) x 14 1/2 ( 37 cm) " with frame. Condition : Framed long time ago under glass. Good condition with original color.There is a "yellowing of the paper" that you would expect from an authentic piece, in my opinion it adds the antique charm.
