DESCRIPTION Joe Loco - “The Best Of Joe Loco” Fantasy Records F-8048 (Stereo) from 1960. Hard to find Greatest Hits Compilation Latin Jazz / Pop / Bugaloo album from pianist Joe Loco. I am not sure when this version of the LP was released. It is on the Brown Fantasy labels that were used between 1973 and 1977 but is in a Laminated Cover with a paste-on “Stereo 8048” sticker over the original Mono catalog number that would have been used for the original 1960 release. So either the factory was using up some old Covers during the 1970s or someone put a newer LP in an old cover. Who knows?! In any case, some great music. CONDITION The Laminated Sleeve is in good shape. There is some shelf wear - mostly on the edges - and corner softening/wear. Very solid with no splits, stains, writing, cutouts, tears, etc. and would rate VG. The Vinyl itself is in clean Glossy condition looking lightly played. If you look closely you can spot a few light scuffs. At least a good VG+ visually if not EX and plays pretty much perfectly EX to Near Mint all through. The labels are Near Mint. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words: Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them.
