Description: Jimmie Foxx Mini Bat Extremely Rare, Mini bat 16 inches long, dark Brown. This Mini bat was left to me by my father. I found it in a Bureau wrapped in tissue paper that was brown from age. It was probably in there for 75 years.Jimmie Foxx the powerful Sudlersville Maryland Farm boy signed his first professional contract with the nearby Easton minor league club at age 16 and made his big-league debut before his junior year in high school.During my research the wood is dark and made of Hickory wood. Jimmie was a true legend of Baseball. His nickname was " The Beast " & "Double X ". Bat is an Antique Over 90 years old. Condition No cracks or chips. near excellent condition. Jimmie's number was number 3. Looks like a 3 on the top of the bat. The bat is so old that the J in his name is fading. Everything else is distinguishable. Fading is due to age. This mini bat shows Jimmie Foxx's name engraved and is Genuine. Also engraved is Louisville Slugger Hillerich & Bradsby Co. 40 Trademark Louisville, KY If you look with magnification you will see his name engraved in the wood clearly aside from the J fading. Under that it has Reg. US Pat. office.Note: there is an autograph that i cannot distinguish. During my research of old baseball players some did sign with a Black felt pen. Next to autograph it's marked with a number 27 & a 5 Tried to figure it out but no luck. If you know who the autograph is please let me know. I've given you about 90% of my research. Note: if Jimmie Foxx had signed it this would probably be worth $5000 + This Is Definitely for a serious Jimmie Foxx Collector.
