Description: Very interesting item here! Speech of his Excellency Signor Antonio Salandra in the Capitol of Rome, in reply to the Emperor of Austria and the German Chancellor, translated by Thomas Okey, published by T. Fisher Unwin, smaller sized soft cover with 32 pages. This may be from 1915, but the condition is very good for the age so it may be a reprint. There is a Wiki page for the author: “Antonio Salandra was a conservative Italian politician who served as the 33rd Prime Minister of Italy between 1914 and 1916. He ensured the entry of Italy in World War I on the side of the Triple Entente (the United Kingdom, France, and the Russian Empire) to fulfill Italy’s irredentist claims.” I believe this was published a week or so after Italy entered the war so this speech must have been a hint that this was the direction being taken. Of great historic importance! Minor wear, minor blemishes, a bit more wear to cover edges and a few owner imprints (one on the front cover). Light crease and light edge ding to front cover.
