The Ameri-Shield is a simple, effective, and economical way of prolonging the life of your in-the-ground pool liner. It not only works on in-ground pool liners, but it will ALSO work on above-ground pool liners that use a bead and track system. Ameri-Shield really works well for older and damaged pools with large tears or holes above the waterline AND it conserves water as you will not need to drain all the water from your pool to use our product! Although there are various reasons a liner can fail, by far the most common cause (about 80 to 90%) of swimming pool liner failures OCCUR ABOVE THE WATERLINE. This is due to the afternoon sun reflecting across the top of the water & hitting the far side of the pool wall. When this happens, the ultra-violet (UV) rays are actually reflected and then they "FRY" the liner above the waterline as that portion of the swimming pool liner is not "water-cooled". Ameri-Shield installs easily and can prolong the life of aging liners for 1-5 years (sometimes more!) until you're ready for a replacement. Ameri-Shield Swimming Pool Liner Repair specifications:The Ameri-Shield is a full 10 inch tall extra piece of vinyl that is fastened to your existing liner track via a "T" lock system that is actually HEAT-SEALED to the top of the vinyl. This "T" Lock ANCHORS the Ameri-Shield into the tight groove directly above your liner bead. Adhesive is applied to the lower portion adhering it SECURELY to your liner wall. It is glued around the perimeter of the pool to the liner wall and it reaches down into the water a few inches.
