Description: Dear eBay: LOOK AT THOSE ORANGE PLUGS!!!! FIXED!!! Here we have an EXACT replica of the Pew Pew as seen in the Clint Eastwood and John Malkovich film, In the Line of Fire. NOTE: Per several buyers requests, I am now including a signed certificate of authenticity. Many years ago, I had struck up a friendship with Frank Rosseau, the gentleman who designed and manufactured the props for the film. According to him, EIGHT props were created: Two were machined in aluminum and painted resin color (so they could fire flash-blanks on-screen) and the rest were actually cast in resin. All of them had the springs and pull-back pins, but only TWO "snapped" when the triggers were pulled. Through our relationship, I acquired one of the original resin props and per our agreement, I pulled molds and sold some replicas. He got some replicas for friends and made some money...I made some money. Life was good. Unfortunately, he had passed away a few years ago and I no longer have the original in my possession. But, I DO have the molds and I recently decided to pull just a FEW more castings before the "molds go south", as they say in the industry. I AM ONLY MAKING A FEW OF THESE UNTIL THE MOLDS DIE AND THEN THEY ARE GONE FOREVER!!! This is IDENTICAL to the original prop in EVERY way... except, the resin had turned a darker yellow-brownish color on the original, so we are casting these in a lighter yellowish/tan color to better represent what the prop looked like during filming. Note: the color WILL vary slightly from the pictures. It disassembles EXACTLY like the original, even including the squeeeeeek squeeeeeeek sound heard in the film when you turn the screw! To operate, simply pull each of the two resin handles back and push each one DOWN to "cock". Pull the triggers to hear the CLICK! WHEEEE!!!! After casting, most of the parts have to go through additional machining steps (milling, planing, drilling, tapping, etc) in order for everything to integrate and work properly. So the assembly is not quite a simple as seen in the film... Several parts contain embedded steel rods for additional strength... Again, exactly like the original! It also contains two steel springs that were matched (wire size, diameter, compression rate) exactly to the original prop, so they have an identical feel! This contains ALL of the flaws, warts, air-bubbles, crookedy parts, wavy lines, that the original had, as this is a FIRST GENERATION pull off the filming prop. So these are NOT CASTING FLAWS! They were EXACTLY what was seen on-screen! The parts fit is sloppy, the handle is loose and jiggles, and it is NOT a precision device. But again, JUST like the original! And again, it didn't come from my "brother's barber's cousin's friend". I got it DIRECTLY from the gentleman who made it for the film!!! The replica comes with two dead, non-working, dummy pew pews (lead transfer units, or...political figure relocation actuators, if you will) that you can load and remove. Per eBay rules this is NOT A FIREARM!!! IT CONTAINS NO GUNPOWDER, NOR CAN IT BE CONVERTED TO FIRE IN ANY WAY! It is LESS dangerous than a stapler. It is a PLASTIC TOY! IF YOU THROW IT AT SOMEONE< I SUPPOSE YOU MIGHT HURT THEIR FEELINGS. BUT OTHER THAN *THAT*, IT IS COMPLETELY SAFE! It should go with out saying...don't even THINK about putting real pew pews in this! That would be BEYOND STUPID!! We ship worldwide. It will be unassembled and customs forms will be filled out carefully and wisely. The two fake PEW PEWS will be deleted for international shipments, unless otherwise requested. SOLD AS-IS NO RETURNS!
