Super '58 pickups w/Tri-sound switch The Super '58 pickups, which have been the original pickups of Ibanez since the late 70's, have earned a reputation as the most popular pickups among professionals. The warm tone and good response make it a comfortable standard pickup. Alnico magnets are used. Two mini-switches called "Tri-Sound Switch" are equipped to select between series, coil tap, and parallel wiring for the neck and bridge pickups respectively. The neck and bridge pickups can be wired in series, coil-tapped, or parallel. Jatoba Fingerboard Jatoba is a hard South Sea wood with brownish/reddish-brown bark and grain similar to quince and bubinga. It is much harder than maple and comparable in hardness to rosewood, making it suitable for fingerboards. Gibraltar Performer bridge The "Gibraltar Performer" bridge provides improved handling and tuning stability. The saddle adjustment screw, normally located on the pickup side, is now located on the tailpiece side. The "Gibraltar Performer" bridge is equipped with a "Quik Change Classic" tailpiece, which allows for easier adjustment of the saddle.
