From the very beginning, its success was tied to the world of racing. Be it the Monaco, the Carrera, the Montreal, the Silverstone, or the Monza, Heuer was certainly not afraid to lean into this connection with their naming conventions during the 1960s and '70s. In the latter half of the 1970s, Jack Heuer looked to expand his brand beyond motorsport and enter into new markets..The result of that expansion gave birth to the Pasadena Chronographs in 1979. Pasadena is a similarly small but Southern Californian city. In the shadow of Los Angeles, the city of Pasadena is most known for The Rose Bowl Game and the surrounding events. It is possible to Heuer that this town represented a version of "sunny California" that customers either had experienced or aspired to live in..In 1982, Heuer launched the second version of the Pasadena, such as today's example. In the early 1980s Heuer began marketing several of its chronographs with no model names, but instead only a simple reference number, in this case 750.501-3, The Pasadena followed this approach, with there being versions of the Pasadena that had only the “Heuer” shield and the word “Automatic” on the dial, but not the name Pasadena. Other models that moved to this “no name” approach in the early 1980s included the Silverstone and Cortina. .This guy is powered by a Heuer signed Valjoux 7750 automatic calibre and arrives today in all original condition. The crown is correctly unsigned and the Original Bracelet has the Heuer logo on the Clasp..View this "No Name" in a video: here.
