Herb Alpert: This Guy's In Love With You 1968 A&M 929 Monarch 1-S/1-S Press VG++

Description: For sale is a 45 RPM vinyl single by Herb Alpert titled "This Guy's In Love With You b/w A Quiet Tear (Lagrima Quieta)'", originally released in 1968 by A&M Records. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into an archival inner sleeve, then into a storage box for 45 RPM singles, that was kept under optimum conditions for both temperature and humidity until today. The archival inner sleeve is graded as Near Mint. In the dead wax ,between the labels and the end of the tracks, is etched "MR" inside a circle, along with "delta 71186", followed by the matrix numbers 1-S/1-S, indicating that the first stampers were used to make this record at Monarch Records, located in Los Angeles, California. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. The vinyl is visually graded as Very Good Plus Plus because of a small scuff along the beginning of of Side One, otherwise with surface thaat are shiny and bright, in a like-new condition, without any sleeve marks, smudges or surface scratches. I'm play grading this single between Very Good Plus and Excellent, for a composite grading of Very Good Plus Plus, because of about 20 seconds of rotational ticking on Side One (because of the scuff near the beginning). Side Two is play graded as Near Mint. It plays all the way through without any other surface noise, skips, pops or lock-ups from start to finish. You would be hard pressed to find another original Monarch pressing like this one. This would be a welcome addition to anyone's collection.
