Description: On offer is a vintage limited edition framed poster of an artwork originally done by Henri De Toulouse-Lautrec titled Divan Japonais. It comes with a COA from Musée d' Albi.The poster was printed by Edward Ancourt who is perhaps best known for printing the major lithographic posters Toulouse-Lautrec. Measures approximately 24" x 31" About the artist: Lautrec was a French painter, printmaker, draughtsman, caricaturist and illustrator whose immersion in the colourful and theatrical life of Paris in the late 19th century allowed him to produce a collection of images depicting those times. About the art work: Divan Japonais features the many café-concerts in Paris frequented by Toulouse-Lautrec. His poster advertising the nightspot features two of his favorite Montmartre stars, Yvette Guilbert and Jane Avril. This print shows Avril as a spectator, not a performer, as she sits in the foreground with Édouard Dujardin, a writer. In the upper left corner, on stage, shows just the body of Guilbert, recognizable by her trademark long black gloves and gaunt physique.
