HEATHCOTE CHINA BLUE & WHITE PATTERN SOUP PLATE Mark Impressed ca. 1820 museum

Description: Up for sale by Charles Heathcote & Co of Lane End, England, a soup plate of lead-glazed earthenware, I believe it is hand painted, transfer-printed in underglaze blue and is decorated with a Chinese Pattern and has a protruding wavy pattern around the edge. It is from around 1820 “HEATHCOTE & CO 2 - impressed! I searched the web up and down and the only other plate I found with the impressed name is in the The Victoria and Albert Museum, London The subjects depicted on the plate is a Chinese landscape; Pagodas in the background and 2 Chinese royalty ladies at the front (one seated the other standing) The plate is in brilliant condition for its age but does have a few defects in places what looks like rust and some scratches on the top glaze Diameter: 8½ inches about 21½cm PLEASE SEE PICTURES FOR CONDITION BEFORE BUYING!
