Rare and collectible true first US edition with first issue jacket. “J.K. Rowling” on spine, no “Year 1” badge, Guardian quote on rear jacket, price of $16.95 on front liner flap. Full number line 1-10 on copyright page, and diamond pattern on purple boards. Jacket now protected in new archival sleeve but with some mild rubbing to faces and shelf wear around the edges, especially to corners. Spine faintly sun faded and with wear to top and bottom edges. Very faint liquid damage which is only visible on interior side of jacket near spine ends. Boards are straight and clean but with corners bumped. Slight fading to cloth spine wrap at top edge. Binding is split in a few gutters but hinges are secure and all pages remain attached. Slightly cocked spine. Rectangular darkened area to front free endpaper where a personal ex-libris sticker was removed. Otherwise, all pages clean and unmarked. See photos for condition.
