Item History - General (iNCLUDING SIZE, year of production, color, scarcity) WHAT FOLLOWS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING SPECIFIC in this listing Hanna-Barbera Tinykins 1961 Flintstones Set of 6 Mail Away MIB Marx Tinykins In the early 1960's, Louis Marx licensed the rights to product a tiny set of figures (all under 2" tall) of many of the, then brand new, animated characters that appeared on the new Hanna-Barbera television shows. The line was a companion line to their Disneykin line. The Tinykins consisted of sets from the Flintstones, Quick Draw McGraw, Huckleberry Hound, Top Cat, and Yogi Bear. Louis Marx was a company that knew how to sell and resell the same items. The figures were available individually, sold in "playsets" with 2 dimensional backgrounds, TV Scenes, postcards, and one could also buy "almost" the entire set of 34 packaged in a large display box. Marx Tinykins Flintstones - Mail Away Set Marx released 8 different Flintstones characters for their Tinykins: Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty, Dino, Baby Puss, Traffic Cop, and Fire Chief. The mail away set consisted of 6 of these figures (Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty, Fire Chief, Traffic Cop) - all came sealed in baggies. Box was a plain white corrugated box used directly for mailing. For those of you who missed all the fun - eBay decided to punitively punish us for 9 months as we refused to sign up for their "managed payments" plan - in which eBay hijacked our payments in order to charge us a fee for access to OUR money when we wanted - instead of when they decide to give it to us. We finally relented when they pulled the plug on ALL our active listings (during this time, we couldn't add or edit listings but could let our normal store items "ride"). But eBay has become a very hostile environment for small business sellers - especially vintage dealers whose business model doesn't fall in line with eBay's forced one-size-fits-all-we-really-want-to-be-just-like-Amazon model.
