Description: Up for sale here is a beautiful set of The Complete Works of Washington Irving, the Geoffrey Crayon Edition, published by subscription between 1887-1888 by G.P. Putnam's sons. Twenty-two of twenty-seven volumes present, missing Volume II, Volume V, Volume XVI, Volume XXII and Volume XXVII. Volume I has a significant bit more wear than the entire rest of the set, as both its boards are loose. The rest of the volumes present are in remarkable shape. Solid and easily readable, no issues to binding or pages. Pages gilded at top. Some leather wear to spines, though not all volumes are affected. One volume has a cup ring stain on the front board.
