Description: Gobi Pattern by Monica Backstrom Sweden Tall Pitcher Decorative Plate/Bowl 1999. I travelled to Stockholm, Sweden with my mom in the summer of 1999 after living in Europe for a year and we wandered into a Kosta Boda pottery/glass shop. After taking many hours to decide, my mother decided upon these 2 pieces. I have carefully carried these 2 items from Sweden to London to the states (Georgia, Oregon, Washington, and finally Missouri). I should have invested in bubble wrap stock with all the bubble wrap and padding I have used over the years carefully transporting these 2 items to the new house. It is time for them to be enjoyed by someone else. There are absolutely NO CHIPS or CRACKS in these 2 glass pieces. Item 1: Decorative bowl/plate Measurements: 15” diameter x 4.5” height Bowl has a beautiful red glass rim around the edges. The bowl display holder is not included in the listing. The bowl is signed & numbered on the back (the number is either 79810 or 29810…hard to tell as it is etched on the back). You can clearly see Monica’s named etched on the back of the bowl. Item 2: Decorative tall pitcher with a red handle & black rim Measurements: 13.5” height x 5” width at the base This pitcher is also signed and numbered. (the number is either 89736, 89730, or 89738). You can clearly see Monica’s named etched on the bottom of the pitcher. The photos may show the bowl/plate & pitcher as yellow in color….they are not. They are cream, orange, black, and red in colors. These are absolutely beautiful & stunning pieces that I would love for someone else to enjoy. Once purchased, I will take 2 business days to ensure these pieces are wrapped incredibly well to give them the best shot at getting to you unbroken. These items will be insured for their full purchased price. Shipped via UPS or Fedex Ground. Will not ship to PO Boxes. Monica Backstrom (1939–2020) was one of Sweden’s leading glass artists in the 20th and 21st century. After her art studies at ”Konstfack” in Stockholm, she worked for the Kosta Boda glassworks for more than 40 years. Monica became a prominent designer of glass mushrooms, eggs and vases with colorful expressions. Her artistry is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
