In 2011, federal agents kicked in the doors at three Gibson factories, to execute a search warrant, and seized a whole bunch of wood, accusing Gibson to have illegally imported them. So these guitars are made from the actual wood that was then returned to Gibson by the US government after the resolution. It’s a distinctive looking guitar with its vintage-gloss “Government Tan finish” black hardware, plastics and pickguard, that’s been hotstamped in gold with the Government Series graphic—a bald eagle hoisting a Gibson guitar neck. Feels only appropriate that this guitar comes with a set of Gibson’s super-hot Dirty Fingers. Among the most powerful humbuckers Gibson has ever produced. Comes with the original hardcase, Government Series exclusive capo, and extra pickguard.
