The obverse shows a small imperial eagle, head to the left, with an imperial crown above, bearing the center of the coat of arms of Prussia. Around the border is a circle of oak leaves, with a corded edge on one side and a beaded edge on the other side. At the bottom, below the eagle and inside the border is " A A" , for Berlin.. The reverse shows a large "20" in the center with "DEUTSCHES REICH 1888 20 PFENNIG" inside a beaded border band. Lightly toned, natural copper nickel color, showing virtually no contact.
