Description: This print is from a rare portfolio of high quality photogravure (collotype) prints of Savannah Georgia dating from the first years of the 1900s. I don't have an exact date, but it is approximately 1906, based on the monuments. This image depicts three views of Tybee Isalnd-- the lighthouse, the Martello Tower and a lifeboat. Tybee Island is an island and city in Chatham County, Georgia near the city of Savannah in the southeastern United States. It is the easternmost point in the state of Georgia. Officially renamed "Savannah Beach" in a publicity move at the end of the 1950s, the city of Tybee Island has since reverted to its original name. (The name "Savannah Beach" nevertheless appears on official state maps as far back as 1952 and as recently as the mid-1970s). Tons of detail in this print, and beautiful tones. This would look wonderful framed. This incredibly beautiful photogravure is single-sided and on thick paper with a cream tone from age. It has a blank back. The page measures approx. 6.5 x 5 inches, and the actual image area is about 5.7 x 4 inches. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
