The Lunar Series II coins (2008-2019) differed from the original coins with a larger diameter (45 mm vs. 40.6 mm) and updated animal designs. Due to the popularity of the series 1 and 2 coins, a third series was started in 2020 with the 2020 Year of the Mouse coin. This series will run from 2020 through 2031 to cover all twelve Chinese lunar animals.
