The Bussmann corporation began in a St. Louis garage in 1914 due to the vision of the Bussmann brothers: Joe, Al, Frank, Lee and Harry. The concept for the company actually went back to the 1904, when the five brothers, were fascinated by the electric lights at the World’s Fair. Since that time, Bussmann has grown from providing fuses for the world's first automobiles and World War II aircraft, to offering more than 30,000 products. During their first 100-years, Bussmann received more than 3,000 utility and design patents. Today, Bussmann is a division of Eaton / Cooper and is still located in St. Louis, Missouri. AVAILABILITY꞉ In August 2017, Bussmann notified distributors that they were discontinuing production of seven different fuse holders: 2499, 2799, 2839, 4405, 4406, 4407 and 4574.
