If you are buying a leather item as a gift for someone who already owns some leather luggage items, you may want to figure out if he or she prefers items that match. Hartmann, for example, has changed logos and shades of leather over the years. Buying a new Hartmann item may not match an existing set. Some people don't mind and even prefer a little variety in their sets.
