Please excuse any glare in the photos. This colorful, framed silkscreen print on paper has metallic accents. The imagery could be described as modernist or surrealist, with an inverted figure and peacock feathers. The print is framed under plexiglass in a gold tone metal frame. This large item measures approximately 39 3/4 inches by 27 7/8 inches. Unpacked, this heavy piece weighs about 11 1/2 pounds. It would be a fine addition to a collection of vintage European art. Identification The title of this silkscreen print by Friedensreich Hundertwasser (aka Friedrich Stowasser, 1928-2000) is Homage to Schroeder-Sonnenstern. It is circa 1972; it was made in commemoration of Friedrich Schroeder-Sonnenstern's 80th birthday on November 19, 1972. Sonnenstern (1892-1982) was a German artist and painter who was an important figure in the Art Brut and Outsider Art movements. This piece is numbered 3042 out of 4200. Hundertwasser is a listed Austrian artist on askART who is known for modernist painting and printmaking. Many of his pieces were inspired by the Vienna Secession movement. Condition This item looks very good overall, as shown. The artwork has not been examined outside of the frame, as it was already framed when I acquired it. There are some tiny bits of debris in between the print and the plexiglass, which I have not removed. The print paper has very minor rippling. The frame has minor wear and there are some scratches/scuffs to the plexiglass covering. The back side is as shown.
