Description: Frederic Remington "The Shadows At The Water Hole”. Original Period-Framed Print from the 1908 Collier’s Portfolio ‘Thirty Favorite Paintings’. (One of my favorite Remingtons). Image size is 8 1/2” x 12 1/2”, actual outermost frame dimensions are 16 1/2”x 12”. The period frame is from a 1920’s print, thought it worked well. Plate signed lower right (photo #6). Bottom left corner reads …’Copyright 1907 By P. F. Collier & Son’ (Photos 8 f 9). Excellent (brilliant orange) color and condition. It is 116 years old. I love the captured impasto brush texture (photo #7). Note: The first 13 photos are taken without glass to avoid reflection/glare issues; Photos 15, 16, & 17 after completion of project. It is backed with 2-ply acid free museum rag board, new hardware, dustcover and bump-ons May, 2024 and ready to hang. A really great piece, or gift for the discriminant collector or ‘Cowboys & Indians’ fan.
