Having turned down the role of the monster in the original Frankenstein, Bela Lugosi finally donned Jack Pierce's now-iconic "Flat Head" make-up design in the first of what would be several cross-over movies for Universal. The two titans only clash in the last five minutes, but this is still a terrific entry into the Universal horror cycle, neatly incorporating the conclusions of both Ghost of Frankenstein and The Wolf Man. Featuring Bela Lugosi's only appearance as Frankenstein's monster and Lon Chaney Jr.'s second appearance as the Wolf Man, Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man inaugurated a Universal house practice of pairing their famous monsters together, culminating a few years later with Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.
