Description: Item Information This listing is for a Heavy Duty Deep Transmission Pan with 2.5 Quarts Extra Capacity for C6 Transmissions, which are found on 1960's and 1970's full size cars and pre-1988 Ford vans, motor homes, SUVs, and trucks. It is finished with a Black Powder Coat. This PML pan design features steps for vehicles with cross members or other clearance issues. The extra capacity comes from the deep sump in the middle of the pan. Please check your vehicle carefully using the dimensions below for clearance and to verify the transmission installed on your truck or SUV. A magnetic drain plug and all mounting bolts are included with the pan. You COULD pay LESS, or you could do it RIGHT the FIRST time and make it your LAST TIME Technical Information PML includes new mounting bolts and a magnetic drain plug with each pan. PML includes new mounting hardware since the stock bolts would not be long enough. The flange of the PML pan is much thicker than the stock pan for a secure seal to the housing. The above image shows the contents of the box for a pan in the as-cast finish as an example. This picture shows the inside of the pan, PML designed this pan to work with stock gaskets and filters. Filter supports are not needed as the filter bolts on to the valve body. The fluid level is at the same place with a PML pan or a stock pan so an extension is not needed. The above photo shows two possible filter kits for Ford C6 transmissions. They both include a rubber-cork type gasket, which we recommended for use with a PML transmission pan. These are from Fram and have part numbers FT1025a and FT1037a (longer pick-up spout shown on right). A customer with a 1987 F250 purchased the the FT1055a C6 filter, which he used with his PML pan. This filter has a pick up tube connected to the filter with a gasket. Although the gasket holds the tube in place, the tube probably rested on the bottom of the stock pan. The PML pan is NOT designed to support a pick up tube. If the tube should fall out of the main part of the filter, severe damage could result. The above image shows three stock Ford C6 transmission pans compared with the PML deep and stock capacity pans. The PML stock capacity C6 pan will not clear the frame cross members that run under the pan on some Ford trucks. In the above photo you can see the drain is located on the driver's side of the transmission pan. A magnetic drain plug is included with each order. This pan has two bosses (thick, round areas) that can optionally be machined for a temperature sending unit. If you wish to drill and tap for a temperature sending unit, there is a machining charge of $65, contact us before ordering if you would like this option. The above diagram shows the dimensions in inches of the Deep Pan so you can check clearances under you vehicle before ordering. Warranty Information PML products carry a lifetime limited manufacturer's warranty. Our products have proven to be trouble free since we began making them in 2000. If the pan or cover you receive is determined to have some kind of manufacturing defect (i.e., machining problem, leak due to porosity in pan wall), PML will replace the part. If you sell your vehicle with our part installed, we will honor the warranty with the new owner. If you run a cover or pan into a boulder and it cracks or is damaged, well, there's nothing PML can help you with there. Modifying our products voids the warranty.
