Description: This is an antique, bevel-matted engraving, from an old newspaper, HARPER'S BAZAR, an illustrated newspaper published in 1874. The prints in this series are printed on what is called rag paper, an antique paper that is stronger and far more enduring than the newspaper we know today. The print is matted in an off-white acid free matte and is backed by a black acid free back-board which is NOT ATTACHED TO THE PRINT, but which should be kept with the print when framed. TITLE: LADY PREACHING ON THE BEACH AT FOLKESTONE, ENGLAND (See pictures for smaller text.) ARTIST: DURAND, SIGNED IN PLATE CONDITION: EXCELLENT -- The prints in this series are clear, clean, and bright. No tears or folds. A really fine image. Excellent definition. Nice clean, sharp lines, and wide margins. (NOTE: SOFT CREASE IN ENGRAVING. STILL EXCELLENT.) This print is about 150 years old and guaranteed to be original. It is an authentic old print from the aforementioned newspaper and NOT A MODERN REPRODUCTION.The visible part of the print, including the white border (if any) is about 9 1/4" x 12 1/4". Matted the print measures 12" x 16".
